Edy Hurst is a comedian, Theatre-maker and podcaster that combines loop pedals, lofi props, and a Neurodivergent oddball slant to the world of comedy clubs and festivals across the country.

Whether it is completing 125 years of the War of the Worlds, solving mental health crises with a homemade puppet, or making the world’s greatest theme park live on stage, his work is endlessly playful, daft and unique. 

His latest show, Edy Hurst's Wonderfull Discoverie of Witches in the Countie of Himself was commissioned by Lowry as part of the 'Developed With' Programme and is currently on tour in Autumn 2024 - Winter 2025

This year I was going to try and take photos of everyone in the show before it starts, but guess who forgot after saying he could do a backflip, then realising if he didn’t come clean would have to try and do a backflip? Readers, it was me.

Awaking from hibernation like a mountain egg struck by lightning, ya boi is heading to @leicscomedyfest in just over a month. JUST A MONTH THAT'S FINE.

We've got the "delightfully witchy" Edy Hurst's Wonderfull Disoverie of Witches in the Countie of Himself on it's tour date with @attenboroughac on Thursday 13th February 7pm.

It's the show about the Lancashire Witch Trials, the Vengaboys and Absolutely Nothing Else ("A Fine Example of Neurodiversity in Action" The Scotsman).

The a mere three days after, I'm airing out some new ideas in a show that is varying degrees of loosely based on Homer's Odyssey via whatever electro punk songs I write in that space of time. This is with the lovely @tripleceepee at Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre.

Tickets are on the leicester comedy festival website, or via my bios, or maybe I'll bung a link in the comments, but I've recently heard that the algo-rhythms are changing so that they de-prioritise that old chestnut. Thanks the internet!

With a week between, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who came to see, was involved with, or joined me in Edy Hurst's Wonderfull Discoverie of Witches in the Countie of Himself at @the_lowry for it's official 'launch'I was blown away by kind words from audiences and reviewers that came to the show, and the past month of developing and producing the show in a theatre space have been one of the highlights of my creative career, thanks largely to the magick of being in a room filled with talented people that just click.

There was an energy that felt like first performing at school, and it was a privelege and joy to be in such a welcoming space.

I think in a big part this was down to the direction of @joznorris, someone who at the start of this development I knew from his work, and have been so lucky to have such a sensitive, silly and clear director from the seedlings of this idea.

Alongside the great team that were there with us, the show wouldn't be what it was without help from the advise and talent of @joe_is_frankiemonroe @mikeyblighsmith @bobakchampion @hashtagcerys @siandocksey @katiepritchards @amyvreeke @danielnicholasthings @lewysholt for lending their voices both metaphorically and literally.

Thanks for filming help in the show from @bryn_price_rogers & from @mrsamoleary for filming on the night.Lastly, this show would not be able to exist in anywhere near the beautiful, daft and grand way that it is without @antoniacbeck , @grace.ennui and @the_lowry artist development. I feel like my generation of creators have grown up in a world where these opportunities are rare and in high demand, and to have been trusted to go on this (spirit journey) and see where the (witches) road led has been an honour.
